OYRTMA VISITS BABALOJA GENERAL OF OYO STATE; SEEKS COLLABORATION TO END ROAD-SIDE TRADING

Officers of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Babaloja General of Ibadanland, Alhaji Y.K. Abass to discuss extensively on how best he could use his good office to dissuade traders perpetually selling goods and commodities on the road corridors across Ibadan metropolis especially in areas such as Alakia interchange, Gbagi road, Molete, Challenge, Mokola, Beere and other flashpoints.

The Officers acting at the instance of the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi emphasized the dangers attached to road-side trading not only to the individual traders who are automatically prone to road accidents but also to the State Government who suffers huge economic losses as a result of resultant traffic loggerhead often characterized by road-side trading.

The Babaloja General appreciated the Officers for the visit and immediately swung into action by summoning all the market leaders in Ibadan to an emergency meeting aimed at curbing road-side trading to avoid unpalatable face-off with the State Government.
