The Executive Chairman Oyo State Road Transport Management, Mogaji (DR) Akin Fagbemi has citizens and residents of the state to desist from the act of dumping corpses on the road.
Fagbemi stated this on Tuesday when he led officers of the agency to evacuate a corpse dumped at Osintokun Avenue, Bodija in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. His words:
“Earlier today, we received a distress call regarding the lifeless body of an unidentified woman whose remains was dumped arbitrarily at Osuntokun Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan.”
“At about 1100hours of today 8th December, 2020, a team of our Fast-Track Emergency Rescue Operation squad moved in to remove the remains and deposited it at the Adeoyo Hospital’s Mortuary, Ibadan and case reported to relevant agencies.”
“The indiscriminate dumping of corpses along roads portend great danger to commuters and road users and even a greater danger to residents of affected communities.”
“Since His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State has empowered the authority with relevant resources, we shall continue to do all within the ambits of the law to maintain sanity and orderliness on all roads across Oyo State.”
