Chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party in Oluyole Local Government Area have expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the just concluded party primaries in the local government.
The party leaders disclosed this on Tuesday during a solidarity match to the Office of the Oyo state Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde to appreciate the state helmsman for his fatherly disposition towards members of the party in the state.
While speaking on behalf of the party leaders, the immediate past Caretaker chairman of Akorede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Wahab Olasunbo, urged aggrieved party members to put the interest of the party above personal and parochial interests by supporting those who emerged at the primaries to fly the party’s flag in the upcoming local government elections in the state.
Speaking with Governor’s Office Correspondents, Olubodun Bolarinwa absolved Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola from allegations that he manipulated the Councilorship slot for ward four.
Mogbonjubola who is popularly known as Jagaban is the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde. He was accused of conniving with the party executives to manipulate ward four Councilorship aspirant earlier adopted by ward leaders.
Recall some women from Oluyole led a peaceful protest to the Governor’s Office on Monday to express displeasure over the development.
However, Olubodun said consensus adoption of candidates remains an integral party practice which has helped to ensure the hitch-free emergence of candidates prior to elections.
He urged aggrieved party members to exploit other windows of opportunities that suits their interests. He noted that Hon Mogbonjubola wouldn’t do what is contrary to the decision of Governor Makinde and what the party’s constitution stipulates.
