Hon. Dare Adeleke, the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Federal Constituency Matters, has responded to apparent discord within the Oyo PDP, urging all parties to cease fire.
Reacting to an article titled “Condemnation of Agbowonrin’s Political Misdeeds and Misfortune,” Adeleke expressed concern that certain individuals may be fostering disunity within our Ibadan South-East local government.
While acknowledging the right to protest, Adeleke cautioned against labeling Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin’s impactful empowerment scheme as a “self-serving kangaroo empowerment scheme reeking of nepotism,” stating that such remarks reflect unbridled anger and perhaps hatred.
He also warned against actions that could polarize the party, noting that making false claims, such as alleging that Agboworin allocated 85% of his slot in favor of APC cronies and unfairly comparing him to Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, only serves to fuel distrust among party members.
Adeleke emphasized, “Why are they intent on polluting the political waters of Ibadan South-East? It’s evident from their baseless allegations that they have issues with Agboworin. However, darkness cannot overshadow light. Agbowonrin remains a shining star of our local government, and the attempt to tarnish his reputation is malicious.”
Regarding those seeking to deepen confusion within the constituency, Adeleke lamented, “We have magnified a minor disagreement in our local government to such an extent that it risks becoming a subject of ridicule.
Governor Makinde has entrusted us with responsibility, and we should appreciate his benevolence.”
He appealed to all aggrieved members to “sheath the sword of hatred” and emphasized, “We are brothers.”
