PDP NWC Approves Makinde’s Nomination of Hon. Dare Adeleke as Cross Rivers PDP Ward Congress Appeal Panel Chairman

 

The National Working Committee (NWC), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has ratified Governor Seyi Makinde’s nomination of his Special Adviser on Federal Constituency and the party’s stalwart in the state, Hon. Dare Adeleke as the Cross Rivers State PDP ward congress appeal panel chairman.

The ratification, which was conveyed in a letter issued on Wednesday by the National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature in Abuja, on behalf of the NWC, stated that the Appeal is scheduled to hold on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Party Secretariat, Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

The composition of the Ward Congresses Electoral Appeal Panel include, Hon. Bachir Hamza, member, while Hajiya Aishatu Una, will serve as the secretary of the panel.

The letter read: “In carrying out this assignment, the panel is expected to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), the approved Guidelines for the Conduct of Ward, LGA, State, Zonal Congresses and the National Convention, and the Electoral Act, 2022.”

“The panel’s attention is drawn to Chapter 1, Section 6(7) of the Party’s Constitution as well as Page 02 of the Guidelines for the Conduct of the Congresses which stipulates that not less than 35% of nomination for Party offices shall be reserved for Women while Chapter 4, Section 18 (1)(g) prescribes that one of the three (3) Ad-Hoc delegates shall be a woman.”

“It is expected that the panel’s exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during the assignment will justify the confidence reposed in them by the leadership of the party.”
