The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Students Affairs, Hon Victor Olojede 5-aside football tournament held in Akinyele Local Government has ended in a grand style with Team GSM defeating Team Otunba Seye Famojuro by five goals to three.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the tournament, Olojede explained that the essence of the competition was to express appreciation for what Governor Seyi Makinde is doing for the development of Oyo state and for the opportunity given to serve in his government.
He added that this will foster unity in Akinyele and promote peace, hence unity remains the anchor hold, “The greatest weapon with which to fight crime was to engage the youths in human and capital development through which they would become useful to the society in future”, he averred.
As part of the highlights of the competition, over 100 youths registered for the first stage of the PVC Registration.
Dignitaries present at the final include; the Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Sports Development; Hon. Tobi Oyewumi, the Chairman Goodness Estate Landlord and ladies Association and other Community leaders, Leaders of (PDP) in Akinyele, the sole Administrator of Akinyele South LCDA; Hon Funsho, Financial Secretary, PDP Oyo State, the former Caretaker Chairman, Akinyele South LCDA; Hon Kangara,Ward 8 party Chairman and Prince Adebowale and the outgoing and incoming leadership of Ojoo youth Association.
