As Muslims begin the month-long fasting period, the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Youth and Sports, Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa has called on them to pray for the peace, unity and development of the Oyo State to enhance the social and economic well-being of the people which the administration of GSM has been promoting since 2019.
Bolarinwa who decribed Ramadan as period of recompense, piety and separation from
sin, said Muslims must be ready to sacrifice and pray to Almighty Allah who make Ramadan a blessing for them.
He added that the holy month of Ramadan is an avenue for every Muslim to reflect on the past, with a view to seeking forgiveness from Allah.
He admonished Muslims to manifest the spirit of love, oneness, charity, reflection, obedience and other tenets of Islam during and after the Ramadan.
He noted that “the last 10 days of Ramadhan should be dedicated to moving closer to Almighty Allah. We all have to pray for the progress and economic recovery of the nation.” Bolarinwa concluded.
