Stakeholders in Ibadanland has cautioned the Aare of Ibadanland who is also the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Daud Akinola Makanjuola a.k.a D-Damark not to work against Ibadanland and due process that led the to the emergence of Alhaja Saratu Konibaje as the Iyaloja General of Oyo State. The stakeholders vowed that any plan to compromise the due process will not materialized, expressing disappointment on how Aare of Ibadanland could turned against the ancient city over the Iyaloja General of Oyo State tussle.
It was alleged that the highly respected Muslim leader was said to have taken a factional Iyaloja of Oyo State, Princess Nurudeen Abeo to residence of former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja for iftar.
He was allegedly quoted saying Abeo is the authentic Iyaloja General, and Abeo should begged the Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekini Abass, who was also in attendance at the meeting.
It was reported that Y. K Abass was totally embarrassed with the development and explained to Otun Olubadan at the meeting that Alhaja Sarat Aduke Konibaje was favoured by the due process before he left the meeting.
A statement by Abass, Alhaja Iyadunni and the Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade urged Aare of Ibadanland to desist from the plan or face the anger of Ibadan people.
According to the statement, Ibadan people will not take it easy with anybody that is against due process.
The statement wondered why Akinola can still came up with such a position despite the fact that he was at high level meeting at Ibadan house, Oke Aremo where the decision to accept due process was taken.
The statement said compromising due process that produced Sarat Konibaje possed danger to activities of market men and women across the state.
Recalled that some elders and leaders in Ibadanland has opted for due process in resolving crisis currently rocking the post of Iyaloja-General of Oyo State.
The elders include former President-General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, (CCII), Chief Bayo Oyero, Aare Daud Makanjuola Akinola, Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Y. K Abass, Alhaja Iyadunni, and the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland , Engr. Chief Dotun Sanusi.
Others are current CCII President-General, Barr. Chief Niyi Ajewole, Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI) and the former Ag. Secretary General CCII, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, and Mogaji Abass Oloko among others.
The due process, according to them produced the emergence of Engr Seyi Makinde as Executive Governor of the State, the process guides the operational activities of the Government. They advise His Excellency not to allow anyone to mislead him on the matter.
The elders at a special meeting of stakeholders in Ibadanland on the issue of Iyaloja-General of Oyo state between Alhaja Saratu Konibaje and Alhaja Nurudeen Abeo resolved to followed due process to put an end to the crisis.
