The Caretaker Chairman of Omi-Apata Local Council Development Area Hon Sheriff Adeojo has organised empowerment programme for farmers by distributing bags of fertilizers, planters and knapsack sprayers.
Hon Sheriff Adeojo has also launched Omi-Apata LCDA Rice. He said” the 10 acres of rice that Omi-Apata LCDA cultivated at Akufo farm settlement has been harvested, milled, packaged and ready for people to buy and eat.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Agric Business Dr Debo Akande represented at the occasion by the Zonal Manager OYSADA Dr Tolulope Adegbesan commended Hon Sheriff Adeojo for the laudable initiative.
The council chairman further stated that he is emulating the Executive Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde by promoting agricultural sector.
In their various remarks Hon Isiaka Adeola former Honourable member representing Ido Local Government in the Oyo State House Assembly, PDP Chairman Ido Local Government Hon Ayuba Akinsola and other dignitaries gave Kudos to Hon Sheriff Adeojo for embarking on various developmental projects and programmes.
Responding on behalf of farmers that benefitted from the empowerment Baale Agbe Alhaji Adeniyi Sulaiman appreciated the chairman for all the materials given to them.
Hon Sheriff Adeojo accompanied by the caretaker committee, management team and party leaders had earlier embarked on chlorination of wells across the council area.
