Smart City Project Will Address Housing Deficit in Oyo State – Investors, Stakeholders

A Corporate investment company, Tinath Realties and Investment Limited has flagged off a smart city project as part of its readiness to supporting Oyo State Government at addressing housing deficit in the state.

The project situated within the Oluyole free trade zone is aimed at restoring the abandoned quarry sites and adjoining parcels of land into an eco-friendly habitat.

The Smart City project tagged Blue Sapphire District was conceived by Tinath Realties and Investment Limited and being executed in partnership with other corporate investors as a way of keying into the development drive of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in the State.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony, Governor Seyi Makinde who was represented by the commissioner for trade and investment, Hon Niyi Adebisi said any investment made in the state would deliver huge return on investment, acknowledging that the large expanse of land across the state is an economically viable investment option.

In his keynote address, the board chairman, Tinath realties, Mr Bamiji Olaokun said the project, modeled after the Silicon Valley and London White Smart City, noting that it was targeted at achieving the SDG goals 1 – 13 and as well generate over 10,000 jobs.

Presenting the project, the MD/CEO of Tinath realties, Mr Kola Abimbola hinted that the project would be in 3 phases and would significantly add value to Oyo state.

Also in an address, a development partner and the board Chairman, Asimais company limited, Alhaji Kolawole Rasak said cordial relationship with the host community have been established to guarantee the success of the project.

Performing the official flag off of the project, the Chairman, Oluyole local government, Engr Akeem Olatunji stated that the Blue Sapphire District project will enhance the socio-economic growth of the area.

In their various goodwill messages the president, Central Council of Ibadan Indigene (CCII) Chief Niyi Ajewole, and the Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation, Chief Ademola Omotosho collectively acknowledged that the project would revolutionize the concept of housing in the state.

The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere led members of his council to pray for the success of the project.
