The Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on security matters, Fatai Owoseni, has confirmed that armed masked men in military camouflage suspected to be yoruba nation agitators stormed the Oyo state government Secretariat.
Fatai Owoseni made the confirmation while addressing newsmen at the entrance of the Oyo state secretariat, assured that the situation is under control.
According to Owoseni, 18 suspects were arrested while items such as 18 seater bus, multiple brands new motorcycles and ammunition also recovered.
He said some of the armed masked men in military camouflage manned the entrance of the Governor’s office trying to force their way in, while others went to the house of assembly premises and replace the Nigeria flag with a flag bearing the logo of Yoruba nation.
He added that upon arrival of various security operatives, the situation led to a gun battle.
