The Oyo State Commissioner of Youth And Sports, Hon Seun Fakorede on Wednesday paid familiarisation and on the spot assessment tour to Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso at the Club Secretariat, Soun Stadium, charged them to be united and work towards taking the club to enviable heights.
The honourable commissioner who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary,Pastor Dele Oyadeyi , and Director of Sports Administration , Mrs Adegoke Olubisi in the ministry as well as the Special Adviser on sports to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr Tobi Oyewumi and an aide to the Honourable commissioner, Alhaji Ogundele Quadri used the visit to checked the facilitate at the Soun Stadium.
Earlier in his address, the Permanent Secretary in the sports ministry, Pastor Dele Oyadeyi, appreciated the kind heartedness of the commissioner for prioritizing the welfare of the staff.
” We bless God for this day. We are here to assess you in terms of your duties as staff and the best areas we believe you can perform for optimum efficiency and effectiveness as stated by the extant laws”.
“I implore you to face your job and desist from partisan politics as this might affect you as staff. We must be obedient to approved measures to curb the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. Football activities will start and by God’s grace no one will be found wanting”, the PS said.
Hon Seun Fakorede used the occasion to speak on sundry issues ranging from COVID-19, the unusual stance of the present administration towards performance and the need to think outside the box to take the Ajilete Warriors from where it is to where it is supposed to be.
“I am here to familiarise with you and to rob minds together on how best we can work and step up to move Crown FC forward as well as screen the staff to ensure we put round peg in round hole”.
” We need to be united to achieve any set goal. For us in the ministry we will always do our best to make you happy in terms of your welfare. As staff you must always make sure you contribute significantly towards the success of the club as this is the best way to reciprocate the good gestures of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration.”
” I am highly disappointed to hear that some of you have ignored your primary assignment for partisan politics. Is that the best way to be effective and efficient ? Is that the best way to reciprocate the good gestures of the present administration who is working tirelessly to moving the state forward ? This is time for governance and not politics. I am sounding a note of warning to you for the very last time, anyone caught in any act inimical to the progress of the club will be fired”.
“Crown FC is bigger than any individual. The club belongs to the good people of Oyo State and the state government so we should expand our mindset to a more wider perspective when it comes to issues relating to Crown FC”.
On the deadly COVID-19 virus, the honourable commissioner solicited the help of all staff to cooperate with relevant bodies in the fight against the scourge.
” COVID-19 is real, my dear people. Let us obey all the certified measures to stay safe. Most significantly, social distancing, washing hands regularly, use of sanitizers and the compulsory use of nose masks which we have exemplified”, the youngest commissioner said.
The Acting General Manager, Mr Kunle Oyeleye , on behalf of the staff, appreciated the large heartedness of the commissioner. He used the privilege to thank all those that accompanied the commissioner and the entire staff in the sports ministry. The former administrative secretary promised to ensure that all hands are on deck to move the team to national and international levels.
