Surulere LCDA Boss, Obalegbe Appreciates Gov Makinde, Shares Scorecard

 

The outgoing Chairman of Surulere South LCDA, Hon. Murufu Gbadamosi A.K.A Obalagbe shows sincere appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and PDP party leaders at all levels for their support during his tenure, in his press release, he also shared his scorecard of achievements while in office. As my tenure as the Local Council Development Area comes to an end, I want to appreciate God Almighty who was there for me throughout my time in office. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Surulere South LCDA, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on our community.

I would like to extend a special gratitude to the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his guidance, support, and leadership during my tenure. Your vision for our state has inspired me to work tirelessly towards the betterment of our local government. Your commitment to good governance and development initiatives has set a strong foundation for progress, and I am grateful for the collaborative efforts that have allowed us to achieve significant milestones together.

To the esteemed PDP party leaders at State, Local and Ward Level, I am thankful for your trust and confidence in me to lead Surulere South LCDA. Your support has been instrumental in driving forward our shared goals of inclusive growth, social welfare, and community development. I appreciate the unity within our party that has enabled us to work cohesively towards a common purpose, ultimately benefiting the residents of Surulere.

Last but certainly not least, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to the resilient and supportive people of Surulere South LCDA. Your unwavering belief in our administration’s ability to effect positive change has been a driving force behind our accomplishments. Together, we have tackled challenges, implemented impactful projects, and fostered a sense of community pride that will endure long after my tenure ends.

During my time as Local Government Chairman, we have achieved significant milestones that have positively impacted the lives of our constituents. Some key accomplishments include:

1. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENTS

– Drainages at White House area, Oko.
– ⁠Drainages at Bob Shege Street, Oko
– ⁠Culvert at White House area, Oko
– ⁠Permanent Secretariat with staff quarters in Oko
– ⁠Public Toilet at Oko Grammar School
– ⁠Seven motorized borehole across the LCDA.
– ⁠Grading of roads across my LCDA twice in a year.
– ⁠Construction of culvert at Ijado.
– ⁠Drainage at Iresapa market
– ⁠Patching of portholes on Oko market road

2. SOCIOECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND SUPPORT

– Women Empowerment across the LCDA
– Farmers’ Empowerment Across the LCDA
– Charity donations across the LCDA
– General empowerment for the people of my LCDA where motorcycles, refrigerators, grinding machines, sewing machines, dries were distributed.
– Clearing of refuse in Oko
– Distribution of 4 motorcycles to security personnel
– ⁠Official cars for HLGA, DASH,
– ⁠⁠Official car to the Secretary
– ⁠Official car to DASH,
– ⁠2010 Corolla to the Chairman
– ⁠Provision of immediate relief funds and other supports to victims of natural disasters in Iresapupa.

3. EDUCATION SUPPORTS

– Obtaining JAMB for students across the LCDA every year.
– ⁠Provision of scholarship to Ten students from the LCDA to study at school of health and midwifery.
– provision of scholarship to Secondary School Student.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

“Throughout my tenure, community engagement has been a top priority. We have fostered open communication channels with residents through town hall meetings, feedback sessions, Radio Station and participatory decision-making processes. By involving the community in governance matters, we have ensured that their voices are heard and their needs are addressed effectively.

“I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together during my term as LCDA Chairman.

“The progress we have made would not have been possible without the collective efforts of all stakeholders involved – from government officials to party leaders to everyday citizens.

“As I step down from this role, I do so with a sense of fulfillment knowing that we have laid a strong foundation for continued growth and prosperity in Surulere South LCDA.
