The Rest of the World Can’t Wait to Explore This Tourist Site,’ Ibarapakan Says as He Hikes Idere Hills

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has described Idere Hills, a popular tourist attraction site in Oyo State, as a breathtaking one that the rest of the world won’t hesitate to explore.

The lawmaker said this, while hiking Idere Hills on Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Idere, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Hon. Adepoju said he did promise during the electioneering campaign that tourism, among other things that are capable of growing his constituency, would be keenly looked at while working closely with key stakeholders in the country and the world at large to harness them for the benefit of the region.

Ibarapakan said he is grateful to HRM Oba Onikola Oyelami Olufiji II, the Onidere of Idere, who, according to him, along with his chiefs-in-council and Idere Idigenes, welcomed him and his entourage into the community with open arms.

In his words of appreciation, the vibrant Reps member said his representation would continue to focus on Idere Hills and other tourist attraction locations in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, noting that, just like data, tourism is also the oil of the 21st century.

“Idere Hills has the potential to become an international tourist destination; the site possesses all of the necessary elements. Hiking the hills is breathtaking, and I must have missed out on so much over the years. Now, the desire to explore again lingers. That is the infectious nature of this tourist attraction,” Ibarapakan remarked after hiking the hills.

He added that, as a government, thorough attention would be focused on developing the tourist attraction site while seeking the assistance of private organisations to partner on the bold decision.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character also expressed his appreciation to the Idere monarch as well as the entire indigenes of the community for the first-class hospitality provided during his stay in the ancient town he described as one of his homes.
