In the wake if the deadly explosion that rocked Bodija, Ibadan on Tuesday, the management and officials of the Oyo State Park Management System, PMS visited the scene of the blast.
Speaking with journalists at the scene of the incident, the Chairman of Park Management System, Ambassador Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa who led other state executives of the establishment to the scene on Thursday, sympathized with residents and victims who lost loved ones and valuables when the explosion occured on Tuesday night.
Tommy appreciated the steps taken by Governor Seyi Makinde to ameliorate the plights of the victims who were largely affected by the blast, describing the Governor as a leader who prioritizes the welfare of Oyo residents.
He therefore prayed for the quick recovery of those receiving medicare at designated emergency hub set up by the state government. His words:
“We are at the scene of the explosion at Adeyi Street, Old Bodija Ibadan to commiserate with those involved in the tragedy.
“I would like to offer my sincere prayers for the victims of the explosion that rocked Bodija on January 16th and extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those that lost their lives, I wish them quick recovery.
“I am shocked by and resentful of the explosion which occurred at the Bodija axis. Such a deadly explosion is not only a challenge against the whole of our civilization and values, but also a cowardly attempt to hinder the efforts of the Oyo State Government on the development of our dear Pacesetter State.
“On behalf of the entire Executives of Oyo State Park Management System (PMS) and members, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the Governor Engr. Abiodun Oluwaseyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“May the departed souls rest in perfect peace.”
