The lingering crisis rocking Akinyele Trailer Park in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State has finally become a thing of the past.
This was the the Chairman of Oyo State Park Management System, PMS, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa brokered peace between the two warring factions.
The festering crisis was between the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland (Sabo) and the Seriki Shasha and after the PMS Chairman, Tommy had listened to both factions, he and his executives announced the dissolution of the existing committee superintending on the affairs of the Trailer Park.
At a peace parley meeting which was held on Thursday at the PMS Office in New Garage, having understood the rudiment of the festering crisis, Tommy inaugurated a Caretaker Committee so as to bring an end to the incessant crisis that has almost degenerated into bloodbath. The statement from Tommy’s SA Media, Prince Omiyale Onaolapo reads:
“My dear good people of Oyo State if you have been following all my social media platforms recently, you will notice I embarked on some trips to bring peace back to the Akinyele Trailer Park.
“The crisis involved two major revered Hausa Community leaders, Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland (Sabo) and the Seriki Shasha.
“The issue has really degenerated to the level in which it has almost resulted to taking of lives and destruction of properties, I waded into the crisis when I noticed that the main issue is on Park Management System (PMS) and immediately I was appointed as the State Chairman of the PMS, I made a pledge to always pursue peace no matter what it will take.
“Remember, he who finds peace would definitely have peace of Mind.”
“I visited both the Seriki Shasha and Seriki Hausawa Of Ibadanland (Sabo) respectively to listen to their own sides of the story, after carefully listening to both leaders, I demanded that they should hand over the leaders of the two factions to me and promised to make necessary corrections and bring lasting solution to the crisis and to the glory of God, they both concurred after which I invited both factions of the Akinyele Trailer Park leaders separately to mediate into the crisis.
“After meeting both Factions, I along with my Executives took a decision for peace to reign at that park, the present Executives of the park must be dissolved and set up a Caretaker Committee to look after the affairs of the Park pending the announcement of a New Chairman.
“Today we were all together at the PMS headquarters at New Garage Ibadan, had a robust discussion with both factions and finally, God Almighty took permanent control and a Caretaker Committee was finally inaugurated.
“I ensured that all security agents were present, Commissioner of Police who wa represented by State Commandant SRS, Director DSS was also represented, the Police Area Commander Akinyele also represented, OYRTMA Chairman was also represented, the Olubadan of Ibadanland also represented by Kabiesi Oba James Odeniran (Alakinyele of Akinyele) , The Seriki Shasha ably represented, The Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland also represented.
“The newly Appointed Caretaker Committee was committed to an undertaking and also the leaving two leaders of the two factions including the representatives of both Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland and Seriki Shasha to ensure that the peaceful co-existence is not truncated.
“I then ensured that both leaders having issues with each other buried their differences and embraced each other.
“The Alakinyele of Akinyele in his remarks, was full of joy and he couldn’t hide it, he said this issue has been giving him sleepless night, even they have been to the Police Headquarters to meet the Commissioner of Police on this issue and also the Director DSS and Olubadan of Ibadanland, but he was so surprised the ways and manners in which I take in settling the issues amicably, he then said he will return back to His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland to feed him back.
“He said truly, I, Tommy is a Peace Ambassador, because he sees me as an advocate of peace and thereafter gave me a name The Sheu of Our Time.”
