Sequel to the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State and Chairman, Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Authority wishes to inform the general public particularly motorists and long-distance travelers passing through Oyo State that contrary to the pronouncement of the Covid-19 Presidential Task Force of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the  dawn curfew of 8pm-5am imposed on the State to contain the spread of the Coronas Virus Disease is still in full force as against the recent Federal Government’s 10pm-4am directive.

The Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde is copiously understudying the trend and peculiarities of the disease in the State and has therefore directed that status-quo be maintained as any vehicle or individual caught not transporting or rendering only essential services would be impounded or arrested as the case may be till further notice.

While the OYRTMA Executive Chairman, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi admonished all to go about their legitimate businesses between the hours of 5am-8pm, he warned all haulage and transport companies conveying essential goods to desist from smuggling human passengers into the State and added that anyone caught in the act would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The Authority further assures the good people of Oyo State of her readiness to comply with immediate alacrity to further directives of the Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force under the people-loving Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde as the committee is working assiduously with renowned experts to study and critically analyze the situation as applicable to the state.
