A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo State, Hon Saheed Fijabi has reacted to the embarrassment he suffered from the youth wing of the party.
Goalpoacher News had reported earlier that the former House of Representatives member was booed, jeered at and chased out of the venue of the Youth Summit organized by the youth wing of the Oyo APC.
Fijabi who is the Chairman Oyo @50 Planning Committee stated emphatically that he made donations to support the summit and was officially invited by the planning committee to serve as panelist.
“It is necessary to address the incident at the Oyo APC Youth Summit which held in Ibadan today; 17-12-25.
“The planning committee of the APC Youth Summit invited me to honor them with my presence at the summit as Panelist.
“The planning committee appealed to me to make financial contributions towards the event. I sent my financial contribution to them on Monday, December 15th, 2025 at 2pm WAT.
” Having received the financial contribution from me, the planning committee then proceeded to design a flyer with my picture on it as a further appeal to me to attend the summit.
“It is regrettable that after their persistent persuasion and receipt of my financial contribution, the APC youths and their planing committee had other plans which they unfolded today. This is not honorable. It speaks of extremely low values.
“Against human emotions and expectations, I’ll like to state that I hold no grudge or ill feelings towards any one of them.
“As a leader, I will continue to support and provide leadership towards the growth of Oyo State. The development of the state is my primary motivation and I am undeterred.
“I remain committed to serving Oyo State with integrity, through honorable platforms that are receptive of my ideas.”
