Updated: Ibadan Traditional Chiefs From Abese to Jagun Hold Rare Emergency Meeting at Olubadan Palace, Pledge Loyalty to New Monarch

 

In a unprecedented move, the Traditional Chiefs in the line of Olubadan from the Otun and Balogun line, starting from the Abese Olubadan and Abese Balogun down to Jagun Olubadan, and Jagun Balogun, convened a rare emergency meeting at the Olubadan Palace to discuss various issues relating to the progress of Ibadanland.

The meeting deliberated on a range of topics and made several key decisions.

To begin with, the chiefs pledged their total loyalty to the new Olubadan and called for peace in the town.

This show of unity and support for the traditional monarchy is seen as a significant step in maintaining stability and continuity in the Ibadan community.

Additionally, the traditional leaders expressed their condolences to Oloye Akin Fijabi on the passing of his mother.

This gesture of empathy and solidarity underscores the council’s commitment to the well-being of the Ibadan people.

Among the prominent figures in attendance were Senior Chief Rauf Eleruweere, the Aare Alasa Balogun; Chief Saka Lapade, the Aare Alasa Olubadan; Chief Lowo Obisesan, the Asaju Balogun; and Chief Adegoke Adegboyega, the Aare Onibon Balogun.
