In commemoration of the Maiden World Toilet Day, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, particularly in public places like markets and schools.
He stressed that this event is crucial for educating communities about the necessity of having cleaner toilets and environments.
Oyedele highlighted the role of local communities and market traders in environmental conservation, stating, “The government is committed to supporting proactive communities by working together, we can foster a sustainable environment that will benefit current and future generations.”
The advocacy activity, organized by the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, featured a road show aimed at raising awareness about the critical importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Residents were actively engaged in cleaning the surroundings, while experts provided insights into best practices for waste management and the environmental impact.
This initiative aligns with the Oyo State government’s efforts to ensure a safe and clean environment, urging residents to complement their efforts.
