Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has extended his well wishes to Elder Samuel Ademola Eyinade (Elejire) on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Celebrating the political doyen on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Hon. Adepoju described Elder Elejire as an unblemished kingmaker whose political analysis has never failed since joining politics.
The lawmaker praised the octogenarian’s track record of community, political and religious services marked by principles, righteousness, values and ethics. He acknowledged Elder Eyinade’s outstanding leadership roles, including becoming Secretary of Igboora Progressive Union, formerly Igboora Liberty Progressive Union, even at a tender age—a proof of his flair for writing and a wordsmith par excellence that he is.
Hon. Adepoju also described iconic Elejire as a man known for his infatuation with academic excellence and intellectual sanctuary, taking a trip down memory lane of the popular haven-for-learning Elejire Bookshop, which he said to be one of the noble efforts of Elder Ademola to add value to the education of the youth in Ibarapa Land and beyond in the 80s.
The Ibarapa-born lawmaker celebrated the former Bursar of Igboora High School, saying the younger generation, especially those in the political class, is lucky to have someone who had experienced different forms of government in Nigeria, including the systems with a mix of traditional and colonial influences even before independence.
He said the celebrant is a perfect symbol of a democrat, young-person-centered personality, a man who is unshakeable in his convictions and one who speaks truth to a fault.
Ibarapakan said for someone to have attained the age of 80 and still be in his very quick-witted form is a blessing from God, praying to God to continue to grant Baba Ijo of Methodist Church, Towobowo Market, Igboora the wisdom, strength and longevity to enjoy his ageless words of advice for long.
