As the festive season approaches, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government convened a critical Peace and Security Meeting Thursday to address security measures in preparation for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The meeting, which lasted for three hours in his office, brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Army, Civil Defence, local vigilante groups, traditional rulers, and other community leaders. The focus was on ensuring that residents and visitors enjoy a peaceful and secure festive period.
In statement release by his personal assistant Sodiq Adesina during the meeting, Hon. Adeleke emphasized the importance of proactive measures to curb any potential security threats. Discussions covered strategies for increased surveillance, the deployment of security personnel to strategic locations, and fostering cooperation among security agencies to maintain order throughout the holiday season.
He emphasized the need for vigilance and community involvement, urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly to the authorities. “The festive season is a time of joy and celebration and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that it remains peaceful and safe for everyone,” he said.
