Asake Confronts Security Officer in Mecca for Attempting to Stop Fans Trying to Take Photos With Him During Umrah

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Asake has sparked reactions online after a video surfaced showing a tense moment between the singer and a security officer at a prayer ground in Mecca during his visit for Umrah.

The viral clip, which circulated widely on social media, shows the singer surrounded by admirers who recognized him while he was at the holy site.

As some fans attempted to take photos with him, a security officer reportedly tried to disperse the crowd to maintain order within the sacred environment.

However, the singer appeared visibly upset by the officer’s attempt to push his fans away.

In the video, he is seen gesturing and confronting the officer while seemingly defending the fans who were eager to take pictures with him.

Witnesses at the scene said the moment occurred within the vicinity of the Masjid al-Haram, where strict security measures are usually enforced to prevent crowding and maintain decorum among worshippers.

The incident quickly drew mixed reactions online.

While some social media users criticized the singer for reacting angrily at a holy site known for strict security protocols, others defended him, saying he was simply trying to ensure his fans were not treated harshly by the officer.

Separate footage from the same trip also showed the singer attempting to get closer to the Black Stone, where he appeared frustrated amid the heavy crowd and tight security around the sacred object.

The singer had travelled to Saudi Arabia for Umrah alongside some associates, and several videos from the trip have continued to trend online.

Neither the singer nor Saudi authorities have issued an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of reporting.
