The Chairman of Oyo State Park Management System, Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa has warned all transport stakeholders in Oyo State
to beware of fraudsters using different techniques to extort money from them.
Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa who is popularly known as Tommy stated this in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Assistant on Media, Prince Onaolapo Omiyale which was made available to newsmen in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the Chairman, (Tommy) had received various complaints from members of the transport stakeholders on the activities of individuals using his name to extort money from them under the pretence of using the money for the inauguration party of Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa.
However, the Tommy denied knowledge of such donation, event and warned members of the public to be wary of dubious characters with bad intentions to disrupt the peaceful reform and transition that is currently going in the Oyo Park Management System.
The statement further urged PMS members, motorists among others to henceforth report such nefarious activity to this WhatsApp line (08082242036).
He said he and members of the state executive will continue to operate open door policy, be transparent and accountable to the Government and people of Oyo State. The statement reads:
“My Dear Good people of Oyo State, some complaints have been brought to my notice concerning the extortion by some unscrupulous people under the pretence that the money would be used for my swearing in ceremony.
“I want to state unequivocally that I never instructed or mandated anyone to contribute any money for me.
“Therefore, I am urging you all to please help me in the reformation system that I and my State Executives embarked on.
“Kindly start taking videos or pictured of any incident that is contrary to the wish of the people or that can tarnish our image, either from Inter-State, Micra, Mini Bus driver, tricycle and motorcycle riders.
“Forward the Videos and Pictures to this WhatsApp Number 08082242036, it will serve as evidence for proper investigation into any matter brought forward.”
