Community Head Replies Sultan of Sokoto Over Inciting Statement
The Baale of Isajin Ibadan in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State Chief Kayode Bamiduro has berated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar 111 over a statement credited to him that the North will soon revolt against the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a result of the current hardship that the country is passing through.
Baale Bamiduro in a statement issued in Ibadan said the statement credited to the highly respected monarch fell short of expectations from the Sultan who should be in the forefront of National cohesion in times like this especially when the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari was his kinsman that supervised the nosediving of Nigeria’s economy for eight years.
According to the Onisajin, it is more disappointing that Sultan who looked away for eight years of Buhari’s misrule and looting has started complaining barely eight months of a Southerner’s Presidency.
He added that though the economic heat going on in the country now knows no religion or ethnic groups, such statement coming from the Sultan is suspicious and suggestive of a Northern Agenda to destabilize Southern Presidency.
Baale Bamiduro declared that whatever happens, the Southern part of Nigeria will continue to respect the unity of this country but will not hesitate to call for peaceful dissolution of Nigeria anytime such need arises.
As for former Military President Ibrahim Babangida who warned of Military intervention should the hardship persist, the Community head described him as a shameless leader whose misrule contributed to the present woes of the country, warning that none of the former and present bad leaders would escape the wrath of the people in fullness of time.
