Councilors in Oluyole legislative Council has reportedly impeached theHouse Leader, Hon. Taofeek Azeez, over allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and financial misappropriation.
According to NaijaTodaynew, the impeachment motion was passed by six out of ten wards in Oluyole Local Government, with councilors citing Azeez’s failure to adequately represent the House and his involvement in public unrest as grounds for his removal.

Azeez’s troubles began when he failed to convene House meetings as required by statutory guidelines, which stipulate that meetings should be held at least twice a month. The new House Leader has wasted no time in asserting her authority, constituting a four-member committee to investigate the misrepresentation and affront by Hon. Adesina Dele against the Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transportation during the state congress at Adamasingba, Ibadan. The committee has been given two weeks to report back to the House.

Hon. Azeez condemns such move by some members of the House describing it as “anti people, anti-democratic, and selfish aimed at plunging Oluyole local government into chaos and political instability.
Hew maintained that as the Leader of the House, he was unaware of any allegation from his colleagues and such motive has never been on any item on the Legislative Order Paper at any of its sittings.
