Economic Hardship: Ogbomoso South LG Legislative Council Solicits For Ad-hoc Staff
As part of the resolutions made by Oyo State House of assembly to make life better for adhoc staff of the 33 Local Governments in Oyo State, the legislative arm of Ogbomoso South Local Government under the able leadership of Hon. Alao Stephen Olatunji has proposed bills for salary increase of adhoc staff members from 17000 to 35000 and permanent staffing 90% of the adhoc staff working tirelessly in our LG and LCDA.
These bills were passed during their maiden sitting/meeting which was majorly for betterment of the Adhoc Staff held on 15th February, 2024 at Ogbomoso South Local Government secretariat.
Hon. Ojo Ibukun Femi ( Majority leader), representing Oke-olla/Farm settlement Ward 10 of the local Government area who sponsored the bill solicited that giving permanent jobs to 90% of the adhoc staff and increasing their salaries to 35000 as they too have family members to cater for and they also feel the heat of the hard economy Nigeria is experiencing.
Speaking further, Hon Oyebunmi Kehinde from Arowomole ward 3 who seconded the motion also said, ADHOC staff have many responsibilities too ranging from their family members to other thing, so looking into this, they need to be considered in order to make life more meaningful for them.
The leader of the house, Hon. Alao Stephen Olatunji while responding concluded on presenting the resolution to the appropriate quarter to achieve all they are agitating for.
Present at the emergency meeting were all serving Councilors.
