Eid-El-Fitr: Commit Yourselves to Holy Prophet’s Injunctions of Piety, Honesty, Charity- Abiodun Oni Charges Muslims
The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Minerals Development Agency, Hon Abiodun Oni has advised Muslims in Oyo and Nigeria to be tolerant and live harmoniously with people of other faiths and to commit themselves to the Holy Prophet’s injunctions of piety, honesty and charity.
Oni gave the admonition on Wednesday in his country home in Igbeti, Olorunsogo local government. The PDP chieftain called on everyone, especially the people of Igbeti to live in peace with one another, as no meaningful development can be achieved without peace. He said “We must embrace the tenets of peaceful co-existence as the catalyst for the socio-economic development of Igbeti community and Oyo State, so as to bequeath for the unborn generations a community and state that they can be proud of, he further said that the effort to build a great Community requires commitment and willingness to change on the part of all.
Speaking further Abiodun Oni expressed appreciation to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igbeti for their massive support towards the preparation for the local government election in the State and enjoined them to continue to eschew politics of bitterness and destruction as the state approaches the local government elections.
To this end, he said it is high time Igbeti began to consider themselves as one and urged the people irrespective of party and religious differences to join hands with the government in the effort of making the state a great one.
However, he said as a community, if Igbeti people could work together in unity and harmony it will surely get to the zenith where it so much desired.
