Globacom Ltd Executive Mgt Team Visits OYSG, Proposes ‘Oyo Smart City’, Collaboration On Major Projects
The Executive Management Team of the only Indigenous Telecommunications Company and second largest Telecommunications Operator in Nigeria, Globacom Ltd paid a working visit to the Oyo State Government on Wednesday.
The high powered delegation which consists of Executive Management of Globacom Ltd and Representatives of the Chairman and Owner of Globacom Ltd and Conoil Producing Ltd, Dr. Mike Adenuga (GCON).

The team was led by Mr. Eric Uwaoma, the Chief Commercial Officer of Globacom Ltd with other Executive Management team members like Mr. Bernard Muteti (Chief Enterprise Officer), Mr. Debo Odufuwa (Zonal Enterprise Director, South West), Mr Niyi Odejobi (Enterprise Director), Mr. Debo Adefarasi (Regional Head, Enterprise Business) and Mrs Dupe Olubanjo (Director, Media Communications, South West).

The team was received by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, and the Director General of Oyo State Investment and Public Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPA), Ms Olutola Ronke Lolade.

Whilst speaking with the Governor, the representative of Globacom, Mr Eric Uwaoma commiserated with the people and government of Oyo State on the demise of three paramount monarchs in the state and promised that the company would assist the government in areas of traditional festivals and events where necessary.

The Company Representative also suggested to the Governor to consider turning the State to a Smart City especially during this time where data, information, Artificial intelligence and machine learning are critical to Corporates, Tech Companies and Start ups. He also suggested that the Telecommunications Company can also assist the Government to use various Enterprise Solutions to improve Health Care, Security, Government Processes, IGR Growth and Education.
He noted that Globacom Ltd is also willing to partner with the Government to handle some projects within the state as CSR initiatives, Empowerment and Human Capital Development Contributions.
The Globacom Leader in the South West, Mr Debo Odufuwa thanked the Governor for sparing time to meet with them and commended the giant strides recorded in the last 3 years.
