Hon Ashamu Unveils Makinde’s New Vision for Improved Electricity Service

 

In a move to enhance electricity access and availability for its residents, the Oyo State Government has outlined a new regulatory regime aimed at transforming the power sector within the state.

This came to the fore, when the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Seun Ashamu, met with the management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), led by its Managing Director, Engr. Frances Agoha.

During the meeting, Ashamu conveyed the state government’s vision, as championed by Governor Seyi Makinde, to provide better electricity service to the people of Oyo State.

He said during the meeting: “The Seyi Makinde led Oyo State Government’s vision for better electricity service in the state is clear.

“Our new regulatory regime is focused on increasing access and availability of electricity to residents across the state.”

The commissioner further said: “Our new regulatory framework will provide a clear path for increased investment and infrastructure development in the power sector within Oyo State. This is essential for delivering on our promise of better electricity service to the people.”

“By fostering stronger collaboration between the state government, IBEDC, and other stakeholders, we are confident that we can overcome the longstanding power challenges faced by Oyo State residents. This is a top priority for the Makinde administration,” Ashamu declared.

He pointed out that the meeting underscores the state government’s commitment to addressing the longstanding power challenges faced by Oyo State residents.

Ashamu concluded that by engaging directly with the electricity distribution company, the government aims to identify and implement practical solutions to improve power supply and reliability.
