The General Secretary of the Oyo Park Management System(PMS), Comrade Oluwatomiwa Omolewa on Tuesday gave details of how his men foiled what he called a kidnap attempt on the Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the body, Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi also known as Auxilliary.
Omolewa, who addressed newsmen in company of the Deputy chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the PMS, Alhaji Jimoh Tajudeen, said that the PMS members suspected those who invaded its headquarters at Podo on Monday because they carried nowe police insignia.
According to him, when the team came and requested for Auxilliary, we asked them to produce documents and show their identity. Though they claimed to.have come from Abuja, we were not sure of their identity and we reached out to the Police authorities in Oyo State, to confirm if the team came from Eleyele State Headquarters.
Since we did not zee anyone from the Police Command, we suspected foul play and requested further details which they could not produce, so we dismissed their request to have Auxilliary follow them.
“We were actually surprised to see the so called Police team, because our leader has not been involved in untoward issue at all.
When asked whether the incident could have anything to do with the Iwo Road incident which claimed the life of Rahmon Azeez, the PMS Secretary said that the Police has already arrested suspects in that case and that none of the suspects confessed that ge was sent by Auxilliary.
He said that the PMS strongly suspects that some vested interests were behind the plot to kidnap Auxilliary and rope him into devilish agenda, adding that the evil plot would not materialize because Auxilliary will continue to be on the side of the law.
