Ibadan Northwest PDP Leaders Host Strategic Meeting, Call for United Front Ahead 2027 as Fagbemi Donates One Million

Leaders and stakeholders of the Ibadan Northwest chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convened a strategic meeting on Monday at the party’s local secretariat, pledging unwavering loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and reaffirming their commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Addressing the gathering, the State Deputy-Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, called on ward executives from Ward 1 to Ward 11 to intensify efforts in engaging party members and strengthening the PDP’s grassroots base.

“The party remains strong in the state, and Ibadan Northwest continues to be one of the most trusted and dependable councils delivering 100 per cent results for the PDP,” he said.

Adeleke also dismissed circulating rumours about structural weaknesses following the defection of Da-Alameen to the ADC, stating,

“Those spreading false stories are misleading the public. Our structure is intact, our resolve is strong, and our results speak for themselves.”

The meeting witnessed a significant show of support from prominent party figures, including the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon Fantola; Local Government Chairman, Hon Rahaman Adepoju; and Chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, who generously donated one million naira towards party activities.

Fagbemi’s contribution was widely praised as a demonstration of his commitment to fostering unity, strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation, and supporting the PDP’s vision for the state.

Other notable attendees, including Alhaji Lukman Adesina and Alhaji Labule, emphasised the importance of inclusivity and reconciliation within the party. Hon Fantola urged all members to “extend the olive branch to non-PDP affiliates. Unity is our greatest strength, and together we can achieve even more for our community and the state.”

The gathering, which saw active participation from ward executives and stakeholders, reinforced the chapter’s dedication to loyalty, cohesion, and strategic mobilisation, setting a strong tone for the PDP’s operations in Ibadan Northwest as the state looks toward the 2027 political cycle.
