Ido LG Chair, Adeojo Equips Security Personnel, Set up Local Security Network
In his determination to reduce insecurity to the bearest minimum, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government area of Oyo State, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has assured both conventional and nonconventional security personnel of his continuous support.
Hon. Adeojo gave this assurance in Ibadan on Thursday during the distribution of communication gadgets which include walkie Talkie to nonconventional security groups as well as stipend as personal imprest to boost their morale.
The Council boss also gave assistance in cash to conventional security agencies which include Police and Civil Defence divisions to repair their vehicles and construction of culvert at the entrance of DSS office in Ido.
In addition to that, Hon. Adeojo also presented two brand new generators to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Divisional Police Office at Awotan and Apete Divisions respectively.
The nonconventional security groups that benefited from communication gadgets include Agbekoya, OPC, HVGN, VGN and others.
Hon. Adeojo thereafter inaugurated a joint task force of nonconventional security groups known as ‘Voluntarily Policing Sector’ that will be patrolling the nooks and crannies of Ido Local Government to ensure security of life and property.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs Ronke Aremu, the Head of Local Government Administration enjoined the beneficiaries to reciprocate the Council’s kind gesture by making good use of the communication gadgets and generators in order to reduce crime rate across the Council area.
Present at the occasion were Hon. Tirimisiyu Abidoye, Leader of the Legislative Council; Honourable Councillors; Mr Sunday Idowu, Director of Administration and General Services as well as the CAN Chairman and the Chief Imam of Ido Local Government.
