Ile-Alfa Royal Family Holds 3rd Annual Ramadan Lecture
…as Cleric, Senator Kola Balogun Task Muslims On Strong Faith, Kindness, Others
Muslim faithfuls have been urged to continually follow the path of Almighty Allah and rely solely on Him for help and guidance, particularly during trying periods.
Ibadan-Based Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Isa Akindele Solahudeen, said this at the 3rd Annual Ramadan Lecture of Ile Alfa Sons And Daughters, the Family of Immediate past Olubandan of Ibadanland, held at Alliwo Royal Compound, Agodi Ibadan.
Sheikh Solahudeen, who spoke extensively on the “Importance of Prayer when Faith is on trial” , explained that Allah has the full knowledge of all situations; hence, there is a need for everyone to submit to the will of Allah.
He harped on the need for those with the mindset of destroying or harming fellow humans to desist from such but stick to the teachings of Islam and be positive in their deeds.
The cleric also advised the organizers of the Ramadan Lecture and Muslims in general to ensure they introduce Islam to their wards at the early stage of their lives and endeavour to strike a balance between western and Islamic education for these children.
He also educated the audience on the Duah(prayers) to be said while confronting challenges emanating from enemies, jins and bad people in the society.
In his remarks, Senator Kola Balogun, said it was essential for individuals to believe in God and allow Him to direct one’s affairs.
Senator Balogun called on all and sundry to be kind to fellow humans and make the fear of God their guiding principle.
While appreciating the entire family members for putting up the annual Ramadan Lecture, Senator Kola Balogun, admonished them not to depart from the path of their forefathers but uphold the legacies left behind.
Also speaking, the Chairman on the occasion, Asiwaju Adini of Ibadanland, Architect Hassan Giwa , represented by Alhaji Sodiq Bolorundoro, said it’s because imperative for Muslims to believe in destiny and practice Islam as expected.
Architect Giwa, admonished the congregation to put the lessons of Ramadan into practice, which he said includes perseverance, particularly after the holy month.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee, Dr. Rasheed Fasasi , in his welcome address, disclosed that the lecture was organized purposely to seek forgiveness for the deceased sons and daughters of Ile Alfa and to attract Allah’s mercy for those that are alive.
He noted that the programme fully funded by members of the family, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, will serve as flowing charity for their deceased parents and members.
The Family Head, Alagba Dauda Adeyemo, appreciated everyone present at the event and those that contributed to the success of the annual ramadan lecture
Special prayers were offered for Late Olubadan, Oba (Dr) Senator Mahood Lekan Balogun , their forefathers, and other deceased members of the family.
The Lecture programme featured questions and answers segment, presentation of award to the guest Lecturer, Quran recitation, Kosida among others.
