JUST IN: Makinde Blasts Aiyedatiwa, Ganduje Over ‘Capture Ondo, Osun, Oyo’ Comments

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday responded to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, regarding his statement about capturing Ondo State in the upcoming governorship election. Makinde described this as a “tall dream” that will not become a Nigerian Tribune reports.

Responding to Ganduje, Makinde said the APC and Ganduje would be shocked by the outcome of the forthcoming governorship poll, asserting that the people of Ondo State would not be fooled again.

According to Makinde, the people of the state have lost confidence in the APC due to the party’s poor performance, particularly in its fight against corruption, handling of the economy, and management of insecurity.

Ganduje had stated on Sunday that the South West states, including Ondo State, would soon be captured, and claimed that the PDP was dead in Ondo State.

However, Makinde insisted that the PDP would emerge victorious in the November 16 governorship election, adding that the outcome would shock both Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Ganduje.

He said, “If wishes were horses, everyone would be riding. I can tell you that the people of the South-West of Nigeria are wiser, especially here in Ondo State. You can see the crowd and the enthusiasm in Akoko area.”

“On November 16th, they will tell Ganduje that Ondo State, and indeed the entire South-West, belongs to the PDP.”

In response to Aiyedatiwa’s claim that the PDP is dead in Ondo State, Makinde said, “Well, they say talk is cheap. You can say whatever you like, but the people of Ondo State will speak loud and clear on November 16, 2024, and the entire country will hear it.”

“On November 16th, mark my words, the PDP will prevail, and Agboola Ajayi will be declared the Governor-elect. This will be based on the will of the people of the state, and we can already feel it all around us.”
