A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Oyo Central and immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Chief Bisi Ilaka, has confirmed his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Ilaka who spoke with Goalpoachernews confirmed the development.

Chief Ilaka, a UK-trained lawyer, prominent political figure in Oyo State, and the Ladilu of Oyo Kingdom, disclosed this on Thursday.

According to him, the decision followed wide-ranging consultations with political associates, loyal supporters, and key stakeholders across Oyo State.

He noted that although the step was not taken lightly, it became necessary in line with his political convictions and future aspirations.

Reflecting on his time in office, Chief Ilaka described his tenure as Chief of Staff during Governor Makinde’s first term as both impactful and fulfilling.

He stated that he was privileged to serve at the nucleus of the administration, helping to lay a solid foundation for people-centered governance and policies that delivered meaningful development to the good people of Oyo State.

Chief Ilaka added that his next political move will be made public in due course.

“Yes, I am resigning my membership of the PDP,” he affirmed.
