A former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on Saturday hosted the authentic Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje alongside her subordinates, Iyaloja of various markets in Ibadanland to a break of Ramadan fast at his Bodija residence, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The Otun-Olubadan, an elder statesman who strongly believes in peace, tolerance and harmony identified with all Iyalojas (Muslim faithfuls) as they carry out their Islamic obligations in the holy month of Ramadan.
The ex-Governor used the opportunity to appeal to Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje and other Iyalojas in the state to put to good use the lessons, teachings and sacrifices of the holy month to remain peaceful, devoted and law-abiding.
High Chief Ladoja urged Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje to use her office and the Ramadan period to continue to promote peace and pray fervently for the state and nation at large.
Meanwhile, Concerned Ibadan Indigenes home and abroad have berated those sowing seeds of discord and disunity among the market leaders (Women Wing) to desist from such act or face the wrath of Ibadan Indigenes.
The group queried those pushing a factional Iyaloja who reportedly polled two (2) votes against Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje who garnered eight (8) votes in the election.
The group challenged the factional Iyaloja General of Oyo State to publish the results the produced her as Iyaloja General of Oyo State.
