LG Autonomy: “Oyo Submitted Account For Direct Allocation, Nothing Was Paid” – Ibadan North Council Boss Speaks
The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Seun Olufade, has commended His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, for his responsiveness to the social, economic, and political needs of the people.
Hon. Olufade expressed his appreciation during a recent radio program titled “Ijoba Ibile” on Splash 105.5 FM, anchored by Double A.
Hon. Olufade, when asked about his experience surviving the Bodija Adeyi blast earlier this year that affected his home and properties, said, “I need to first appreciate God the Almighty for the grace of survival.
Myself and my family are still alive today, and I thank God it was the property that was affected and not my people.”
He lauded Governor Makinde for his swift response to the incident, ensuring those affected were provided with shelter and support.
“The Governor made sure those affected were lodged in first-class hotels for months until they sorted out their accommodations,” Olufade stated.
“He also provided palliatives, and some affected individuals are still receiving support from the Oyo State Government.”
When asked about the Governor’s responsiveness to the incident, Olufade praised Governor Makinde’s empathy and dedication to helping those in adversity.
He also described the Governor as meticulous and committed to due process.
Responding to a question on local government autonomy, Olufade supported the Governor’s stance, emphasizing the need for constitutional amendments.
He noted that Oyo State was among the first to submit accounts for direct allocation, yet nothing has been paid into the account.
