The governor, visibly impressed by the transformation of the state-owned transport agency under the leadership of Dr. Salami Dikko, described the PTS boss as a “trailblazer and silent achiever” whose performance has exceeded expectations.

The newly inaugurated GSM Bus Terminal, located within the agency’s operational headquarters, boasts world-class facilities, including ticketing and booking offices, passenger lounges, convenience facilities, and other amenities that rival international standards.

The project, Governor Makinde said, reflected his administration’s commitment to providing modern and people-centred transport infrastructure across the state.

In a colourful ceremony witnessed by top government officials, dignitaries, and transport stakeholders, Makinde also launched 30 brand-new buses recently acquired by the agency through a strategic partnership with Leyland Nigeria.

The vehicles are expected to further expand the agency’s operational capacity and improve commuting experience across Oyo State.

The governor did not stop there, he also inspected the ongoing construction of the agency’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station being developed in partnership with Atlas Core Nigeria Limited.

The gas station, when completed, will serve as a key component of the state’s green energy transition, in line with global best practices for sustainable transport.

Speaking after the tour, Governor Makinde could not hide his admiration for the strides achieved under Dr. Dikko’s leadership.

He said: “What Dr. Dikko has done here has far exceeded my expectations. Every project you see here today aligns perfectly with our Omituntun 2.0 Sustainable Development Agenda (2023–2027). He has demonstrated capacity, vision, and accountability.”

Makinde added that the reward for hard work is more work, urging Dr. Dikko to remain focused and undeterred by distractions or detractors.

“We will continue to support him and protect every investment achieved under his leadership because this is for the benefit of the good people of Oyo State,” the governor assured.

The event drew wide commendation from the public and stakeholders who praised the Makinde administration for its forward-thinking reforms in the transportation sector.

Observers say the unveiling of the new terminal, buses, and upcoming CNG station marks another milestone in Oyo’s march towards a modern, efficient, and sustainable transport system.

Meanwhile, Governor Makinde’s visit to the Pacesetter Transport Service is being widely interpreted as a reaffirmation of his administration’s faith in competence and performance, values that continue to define the Omituntun 2.0 governance philosophy.
