Makinde Declares Open 6 Months Training for 60 Civil and Public Servants
The Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has declared open a 6-month career advancement course for sixty secretariat assistants in the Oyo State Civil and public service (Batch V).
The governor who was represented by the state commissioner for establishment and training, Alhaji Siju Lawal, at the event held on Friday within the premises of Simeon Adebo Staff Development Center, Secretariat, Ibadan, said he approved the 6-month professional course to achieving a well-trained workforce that can best serve the government and the governed.
He added that the 6-Month Mandatory Career Advancement Course for Secretarial Assistants is designed to enable course participants to make advancement and progress from the former terminal Grade Level 9 to Grade level 10 and ultimately Grade level 12.
Governor Makinde, who stressed that his administration has spent a lot at training and re-training civil servants in the workforce of the Oyo state government, maintained that it is high time the civil servants in Oyo State competed with their colleagues within and outside the country.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State Government just concluded a 9-month basic course in secretarial studies with computer appreciation for about 24 civil and public servants in the state.
