Makinde’s administration remains committed to good healthcare delivery – Hon Kazeem Bolarinwa
Hon.Kazeem Bolarinwa, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Sports, says the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde remains committed to good healthcare delivery across the state.
Bolarinwa stated this on Monday while receiving the students and management staff of Dominican University, Ibadan, on behalf of the State Government.

The Dominican University team was at the state secretariat on a Walk for Health’s visit to the Ministry of Health, as part of the activities lineup for the institution’s Students’ Week.

According to the Youth and Sports Special Assistant, Makinde’s government is committed to ensure that people of the state enjoy good health care.

He added that provision of adequate health facilities and upgrading of primary health care centres across wards in the 33 local government areas of the state has been a priority for the state government.

Hon Kazeem popularly known as Ibadan Pride, commended the students and the management staff of Dominican University for organising the Walk, tagged as ‘Walk for Health’, encouraging them to keep doing such exercise.
Bolarinwa who noted that such exercise is important for everyone in maintaining good health urged the students, management staff and all residents of the state to be conscious about their health status and environment.
Earlier, Rev. Father Patrick Akunne, the Dean of Students Affairs, Dominican University, said the institution’ students were having their Week “and part of the activities is the Walk, aiming to promote healthy living.
“The theme is ‘Walking to Promote Healthy Family’, because we believe that when we have a healthy family we will have a healthy nation, since the nation is made of different families.”
Akunne appreciated Oyo state government in its efforts to ensure that healthy living is maintained across the state, “notably its relentless effort to contain the COVID-19 outbreak within
the state.
“Oyo State was one of the states that stood strong without necessarily going into a
complete lockdown.
“The walk/drive-through COVID-19 testing center, and even the recently flagged off distribution
of 5 million insecticide-treated nets across the 33 local government areas are just a few initiatives
iof the State Ministry of Health in ensuring a healthy Oyo State for us all.
“More so, the launch of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) in 2021 has also
been providing affordable health insurance to residents of the state, particularly those in the informal
sector.” He said.
