Makinde’s Ramadan Gifts: Rescind Your Decision, Accept It In Good Faith, PDP Chieftain, Ashipa, Urges Olopoeyan

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Mr Ismail Ashipa, has condemned the disposition of Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, who is also a chieftain of the party, towards the Ramadan gifts sent to him by the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

Recall that the relationship between Makinde and Olopoeyan turned sour following alleged neglect in political patronage.

According to Isaac Brown during Crossfire programme on Fresh 105.9 FM, Olopoeyan was said to have rejected a truckload of gifts.

However, in a brief reaction posted on his official Facebook timeline on Sunday afternoon, Ashipa urged Olopoeyan to rescind his decision and accept the gift in the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadan.

Ashipa further appealed to Olopoeyan to spend the month of Ramadan to forgive those who have, in one way or the other, offended his sensibilities on some party issues, so as not to be denied of smooth movement into the next life.

“The holy month of Ramadan is a period of forgiveness of sins and wrong doings. No matter how weighty the offense, forgiveness is assured: provided, the sinner desists from further sins.

“May Allah in His infinite Mercies grant our supplications. Amen. Philosophically, Satan the accursed, is the only individual whose prayers and offerings aren’t accepted at Ramadan.

“It is in this wise I wish to appease my personal person, Chief Alh Adebisi Olopoeyan, to rescind his decision in rejecting the Ramadan gifts sent to him by the Governor of Oyo state, His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde,” Ashipa stated.

He equally maintained that Ramadan is the best period to seek forgiveness and also to forgive others, adding that “Seyi Makinde isn’t as worse as Satan: and nobody is.”

Similarly, he used the opportunity to call on other Muslim faithful to sanctify the month of Ramadan “to make our deeds holy and forgive those little stinkers who might wish to disrupt our smooth movement into the next life.”
