Many feared killed in Ibadan gas explosion
Several persons were feared dead on Friday night after a gas explosion rocked the Bioku-Alaadun area in Ibadan, Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.

PUNCH Online gathered that the explosion reportedly occurred while a tanker was discharging gas into a retail outlet.

The casualties were said to include the owner of the gas shop and others who were nearby at the time of the incident.

The Special Adviser to Oyo Governor on on Fire Reform and Chairman Fire Services Agency, Hon.Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, urge the public to always observe safety precautions when handling petroleum spirit.

He also emphasized the importance of obtaining the Fire service , DPR and other stakeholders approval before installing gas tank or cylinder to avoid unnecessary explosion.
He assured the community that all necessary fire safety has been done and the investigation team would be sent to ascertain the root cause of the incident in order to avert future occurrence.
