The President/CEO, MFP Global Services and Global Leader of MFP Group Nigeria, Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo has eulogized the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) @ 60.
This eulogy was given when he paid a Courtesy visit alongside some topnotch of MFP to the President of ICAN, Mallam Haruna Yahaya, PhD, FCA and leadership at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja this Monday.
He traced the wonderful contributions of ICAN and her members to the development of the Nation to the pre-independence era, post independence and up till now. According to him, ICAN contributed massively to the advancement of capital market, indigenization policy/ divestment of shares to Nigerians, formulating accounting/auditing standards, leading others to establish accounting standards board, serving as external auditors to companies immediately after independence to date, performing as finance directors and managing directors of blue chips companies, serving as ministers, governors, heads of agencies of government, starting examination process which has been replicated everywhere and introducing mandatory continuous professional development now in vogue in the Country.
These are just some of the laudable contributions of the Institute to the nation in her 60 years of existence. He believed that ICAN deserves more recognition, appreciation and patronage from the government and the society better than they are getting based on what they have done so far for the Nation.
Dr Oyebade Oyedepo encouraged the Institute not to renege in their efforts to the development of the Nation now and in future.
The President of ICAN appreciated the leadership of MFP for their role in building capacity of people through free public lectures organized thus far. He was full of praises to them for the initiative to stand in the gap of training needs of the Nation.
The courtesy visit was witnessed by topnotch professionals including the Vice President of ICAN, Hajia Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, FCA, immediate Past President, Chief Davidson Chizuoke Alaribe, FCA, Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr Lanre Olasunkanmi, FCA, Council Member of ICAN/Executive Director of MFP, Mr Biodun Adedeji, FCA, Council Member, Chief Ezekiel Ayebatonyekiri Anagha, FCA, Council Member, Mrs Oluwafunmilayo Olaniyi, ACA and other highly placed Chartered Accountants from academics, public sector and practice.
