Most Peaceful State: How Light-Up Project Boosts Oyo Security Architecture
In recent times, Oyo State has emerged as a beacon of tranquility, earning the reputation of being the most peaceful state in Nigeria.
This commendable status is not a mere coincidence but a result of strategic initiatives undertaken by Governor Seyi Makinde, particularly through the impactful Light-Up Project.
Under the efficient supervision of Barrister Seun Ashamu, the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, this project has significantly bolstered Oyo State’s security architecture.
The Light-Up Project, a brainchild of Governor Makinde, has transformed the state’s landscape with vibrant illumination both day and night. This initiative has played a pivotal role in curbing criminal activities by providing a well-lit environment that serves as a deterrent to potential wrongdoers.
Security chiefs in Oyo State, comprising Brig. Gen. Umar Muazu of the Nigerian Army, CP Adebola Hamzat, Chairman of the Amotekun Board AIG Sikiru Akande (Rtd.), and the Director-General of Operation Burst Col. Ajibola Ladipo (Rtd.), all members of the state’s Security Council, have openly praised Governor Makinde for this transformative project.
During interviews with Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, these security leaders highlighted the positive impact of the Light-Up Project on Oyo State’s security.
The illuminated environment has made it easier for security chiefs and their personnel to execute their duties effectively.
Brig. Gen. Umar Muazu, speaking on behalf of the security council, acknowledged that the enhanced visibility provided by the project facilitates seamless operations, contributing to the overall strengthening of the security architecture in the state.
Governor Makinde, recognizing the pivotal role of security agencies, has pledged to continue providing essential facilities and creating an enabling environment for them.
During the handover ceremony of additional operational vehicles to security agencies, the governor reiterated his commitment to sustaining Oyo State as an unwelcome territory for criminals.
The Light-Up Project, under the watchful supervision of Commissioner Seun Ashamu, has proven to be a game-changer.
It not only illuminates the physical landscape but also sheds light on a safer and more secure Oyo State.
Kudos to Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary approach and to Commissioner Seun Ashamu for ensuring the success of this transformative initiative.
The Light-Up Project stands as a shining example of how infrastructure and security can go hand in hand to create a harmonious and safe environment for the people of Oyo State.
