National Councilors Forum, Southwest Zone, Honours Dr Akande Kazeem With Outstanding Progressive Personality Award
The National Councilors Forum (Southwest Zone) has honored prominent individuals in the Southwest during their just concluded conference in Ibadan. The conference was a three day event which featured series of seminars and workshops to further equip legislators at the grassroots to drive good governance.
The conference was themed ‘Effects of Practical Legislation on the Development of Grassroot Administration’ with the keynote lecture delivered by Professor Adewumi Taiwo.
The event was graciously hosted by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Makinde, ably represented by Hon Ramata, SSA to the Government on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
The forum used this opportunity to award individuals who have positively impacted their various communities in the Southwest. Ibadan-born philanthropist, Dr Akande Kazeem Babatunde, an educator with a sterling career was part of the numerous awardees at the just concluded conference.
Akande was awarded Outstanding Progressive Personality due to his strides in providing developmental aid to several communities in Ibadan. Akande has facilitated humanitarian projects tailored to improve lives, support education, and empower youths.
More importantly, Akande was especially honored for his contributions to developing legislators in his local government by hosting a training on leadership and policy which equipped over thirty aspiring councilors earlier this year.
The award lists included all President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, all Southwest Governors, royal monarch in the Southwest region, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Hon. Tunde Soname, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, Engr. Adedayo Ganiyu, Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Hon. Razak Ajala, and prominent individuals in Oyo State.
Also at the event was His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Orumogege III; Soun of Ogbomoso land.
Speaking at the conference, Akande lauded the efforts of the National Councilors Forum (Southwest zone) for organizing an impactful event aimed at equipping and developing the capacity of legislators at the grassroots. He appreciated the forum for honoring him while committing to activities that can bring about good governance and improve the lives of the people.

He charged councilors to continue to deliver their best at their respective communities and ensure that all actions are channeled toward improving their communities.
