Distinguished Senator Monsurat Summonu has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the 63rd Independence anniversary.

The former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly described the 63rd independence anniversary as a great milestone that calls for both celebration and sober reflection.

According to her, “As our country, Nigeria, turns 63, it is a great milestone which calls for both celebrations and sober reflections.

“I wish to salute the doggedness and indomitable spirit of our leaders who have kept us together as a united country despite our challenges. ”

Senator Monsurat also acknowledged the sacrifices of Nigeria founding fathers who gave us a hope for the future; a future that we could be proud of.

She however admits that the country hasn’t attained the height which was expected from 1960 but she urged Nigerians not to lose hope.

Senator Monsurat stressed that the road map to Nigeria’s development is to identify and genuinely address those ills militating against its growth and development adding that when this is done, we will all be proud of Nigeria.
