Oluyole LG Boss, Akeem Olatunji, Meets Online News Publishers, Calls for Collaboration, Support
The new executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has expressed his desire to deepen synergy and cooperation between his office and the media.
This was as the chairman hosted resident online news publishers today, May 27, at his office at Idi-Ayunre, Oluyole LG Secretariat shortly before meeting with the management staff of the local government.
During the interactive session, Olatunji emphasized the vital role of the media in promoting transparency, accountability, and community development.
He equally acknowledged the significant contributions of online news platforms in disseminating timely and accurate information to residents, and appealed for objective news reporting devoid of falsehood.
Olatunji also expressed his administration’s readiness to collaborate closely with online news publishers to ensure effective communication of government policies, programs, and activities.
He highlighted the importance of constructive feedback from the media in driving positive change and improving service delivery to the people of Oluyole Local Government.
In his address, he emphasized his commitment to his administration’s replication of governor Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development agenda at the grassroots for inclusive governance.
He reaffirmed his resolve to partner relevant MDAs especially the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) for speedy transformation of the local government’s agricultural sector through mechanized farming.
He noted that he’s still studying the records inherited and taking inventories assuring that the welfare and well-being of his people in the local government would be his topmost and immediate priority.
“I realize the importance and critical role of the media as the fourth estate of the realm which is why this parley is very important to me and this new administration.
“I want to assure you that we will be as transparent as possible and provide up to date information regarding our activities and strides towards making Oluyole an economically viable LG while entrenching good governance at the grassroots.
“I will meet with heads of security agencies in few days. I will also roll out some of our security strategies and plans to keep our people safe from any form of criminality and threats either from within or outside.
“Our local government is essentially agrarian and we want to focus on leveraging on our strength which is our vast arable land for agriculture. So, in this wise, we will closely be partnering with OYSADA to fully key into modern approach to agriculture and agribusiness development because of the fantastic work they’re doing for the state government.
“His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, who is leading by practical example took the bull by the horn when he assumed office and that’s why today, he’s not just the pride of Oyo state and the South West but of the nation to the rest of the world.” Olatunji said.
Participants at the media parley commended the new executive chairman for his proactive approach to engaging with the media and his friendliness with members of the press particularly his desire and commitment to engender deeper collaboration and synergy.
They pledged their continued support and cooperation in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance through their respective platforms in line with professional ethical standards.
The chairman however, took participants on a brief tour of the Secretariat for an on the spot assessment of state of the structures and facilities.
