Omituntun 2.0: Akinyele Will Become One Of The Richest LGs In Nigeria In Few Years Time – Makinde
Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has declared he is ready to approve any reform made by Olubadan in council, on the Ibadan beaded crowns chieftaincy issues.
The governor made the declaration while addressing the Traditional council of Akinyele local government during his campaign tour of the area on Monday.

While giving assurance that the present administration would not work against the interest of the state traditional institutions, the governor promised that he would address and review the 5% allowance of the state traditional chiefs.

Speaking during his meeting with the Muslim community of Akinyele local government, at the Moniya Central Mosque, governor Makinde said that Akinyele local government has benefited Immensely from the present administration with sighting of Ibadan dry port, Amotekun Headquarters, Railway station, and Ilutuntun in the area.

The Governor also maintained that compensation will be paid to the owners of landed properties aquired for the construction of the Ibadan dry port in the next one to two weeks.

While pledging that Ojo- Ayegun road would be fixed before the end of the present administration in the state, governor Makinde hinted that the state had sought the approval of the federal government to dualize the 9.78km Ojo -Moniya road, he however expressed confidence that in the next five to ten years Akinyele local government, will become one of the richest in the country as the state will turn it to its commercial hub in the Omititun 2. 0.
The governor also met and sought for the support of the the Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Akinyele Local Government, at the first Baptist Church, Moniya, and the Akinyele local government Traditionalists at Ijo Imole Olodumare Moniya.
In their remarks, the representatives of the various religious bodies visited, commended governor Seyi Makinde for being accommodating to all religions in the state, pledging their support for his second term bid in office.
Addressing the Arewa community at Akinyele Kara, governor Makinde pledged to support their business, by providing solar lights within the vicinity of the market.
Among the entourage of Governor Seyi Makinde were his wife Mrs Tamunomini Makinde, the state deputy Governor Barrister Bayo-Lawal, and some other top Government functionaries.
