Open Salawu Pledges Salary to Aid 100 Underprivileged Residents
…Launches N5 Million Raffle
As promised earlier, the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Project Monitoring and Chairman, Oyo State Project Performance and Monitoring Agency, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, will give his annual salary to 100 less privileged people in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
During the event, each of the 100 beneficiaries will receive a cash grant of 5,000 Naira, aimed at providing much-needed assistance to those in need within the community.
In addition to the cash grants, the day will feature a raffle draw, where five lucky participants will win an astounding 1 million naira each.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 2nd of November, 2024 at Al Hussain House, Sabo, Ogbomoso, at 10am.
Open Salawu, the Babalaje of Ogbomoso said the gesture is born out of his zeal and passion to serve the people and not for financial gains or whatsoever.
He expressed his commitment to supporting his community and making tangible differences in the lives of the less fortunate.
While lamenting the hardship in the country, the Waziri Jari Nupe said that the gesture will be a continuous process yearly adding the beneficiaries were randomly selected.
Recall that Open Salawu, a civil engineer and a native of Ogbomoso, was appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring.
He was recently appointed to head the newly created Oyo State Project Performance and Monitoring Agency by the Governor.
The agency was established in 2024, and its goal is to ensure that people of Oyo State get value for their money. The agency will also ensure that projects are executed and implemented effectively.
The agency is responsible for conducting periodic inspections of projects, quality control, and issuing certificates of completion.
The agency will also investigate contract awards and execution and report directly to Governor Seyi Makinde.
Open Salawu is a registered member of various professional bodies, including COREN, FNSE, FNICE, FNATE, NIM, and CIWM. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering.
